Working with our developer client, we came up with a unique interpretation of resort housing in replacing a run-down hotel on a valuable site. Our design is comprised of three-story townhouses—148 guest rooms in total—in the vernacular Conch-house style of Old Town Key West. The townhouses, each containing one standard hotel room and one two-level suite, surround a dense, lush courtyard with palm trees, swimming pools and a cafe. Trellised entryways, picket fences and arbors lend charm to the landscaped grounds, while oceanside rooms open onto porches and private, white-sand sunbathing terraces.
