Newbury Street Infill

Boston, Massachusetts
Completion date: 2020
Construction cost: $6 million

A block of brick rowhouses and their under-utilized rear yards share a corner with the vibrant and nationally known shopping boulevard Newbury Street offered a very rare opportunity to build an infill building. The design shares the influences of the historic townhouses, as well as the row of carriage houses turned retail and offices on the street, in a modernist interpretation. Utilizing 2 of the houses to combine with the infill, a fully accessible 4 stores and office space above combined building was created, with the main entry being on Newbury, with its address as 321, with great visibility for the stores, their own entries from the street, and good exposures, sun and views for the offices.
