Working with our longtime client, Pritam Singh, we took an amazing 24 acre Florida Keys waterfront site that had been used as an RV park, and re-imagined it as a four-star 200 room resort development. Key to the master plan was to orient all the guest rooms with an ocean view. The program included a fine dining restaurant, a separate reception building, a pool take-out/service restaurant, Tiki bar, and a substantial workforce housing building, along with other service and accessory buildings. Being the destination of “snow birds” desirous of a warm weather vacation, the Key West-British West Indies style was used, with Bermudian architectural influence for some of the independent buildings, with their impeccable white tiled roofs and stucco walls, and playful forms. Incredibly intensive landscape transforms the RV park into the lush tropical escape that is now one of the most desired destinations in the Keys.
