To create one of Boston’s premier spa and beauty establishments, we combined two 1870s brick, single-family rowhouses into a state-of-the-art spa and salon encompassing fourteen thousand square feet. The meticulously restored Victorian facade gives way to minimalist interiors comprised of retail space, hair cutting stations, color bar, manicure and pedicure areas, and a full service spa featuring a digitally controlled experience room, saunas, steam baths, treatments rooms, full locker rooms, and hot tub. Packed with technological innovations, G2O achieved a LEED Silver medal for sustainability with features such as a standing column well geothermal system, LED lighting and room sensor controls, and low VOC and recycled materials throughout. The facility’s patrons should be able to luxuriate without guilt.
