An incredible site provided an opportunity to create an entire community woven into the fabric of Old Town Key West. With our master plan and the foresight of a visionary developer, a 46-acre naval base with docks, piers and twenty-one historic structures became a mixed-use neighborhood. The development gently transitions from commercial uses at one end—hotels, ocean-front retail, cruise port and marina, function rooms and parking garage—to residential use at the other: midrise condominiums, townhouses, single family homes and 200 units of affordable housing. Pedestrian-only walking streets foster a community sensibility, while grand boulevards connect directly with parking and service alleys to provide convenient access to homes and shops. The architecture links the prevalent Conch-house vernacular with historic buildings from the Navy Yard ranging in style from Art Moderne to turn-of-the-century industrial warehouses.
