We endeavored to create valuable beach homes and rental properties at a reasonable cost to the developer in our plans for eighty-four new townhouses on the site of a tired motel complex. These two-story vacation homes use a standard kit of parts to save on construction costs, but offer enough options—through the choice of two unit sizes, multiple roof and bay shapes and varied facade and porch details—to make each home unique. Surrounding a British West Indies-style “Big House,” which contains the front desk, offices and restaurant, every townhouse features a direct ocean view with either a crescent beach or the beautifully landscaped pool court in the foreground.
