100 Beacon Street

Boston, Massachusetts
Completion date: 2008
Construction cost: $14.5 million
Size: 50,000 square feet

Using state of the art techniques and experience in historic architectural styles, we renovated this classical revival building to complete a design dating back to 1928. We worked with stoneworkers and the local historical commission to create originally designed—though never built—balustrades, cornices, casings and emblems from precast and glass fiber-reinforced concrete. Masonry suffering from corrosion and expansion problems received a much-needed restoration. Transitional and modern interiors offset these traditional features. The result was effective: the speculative condominiums achieved very high sales goals, including the highest price per square foot paid to date in Boston for the penthouse unit.
