Barmakian Jewelers

Framingham, Massachusetts
Completion date: 1998
Construction cost: 4.8 million

The founding brothers of Boston’s first family in jewelry were eager to reinforce their brand with a 24,000 square foot suburban location, and we were able to help them achieve that goal. Maintaining a traditional look that had served them well for many years, the new store combines the excitement of a grand, formal emporium with the quiet elegance of the brothers’ craft. Mahogany, brass, and wrought iron provide a rich, warm space that embodies the luxury of the goods while providing a comfortable environment for shoppers. These lush materials mask and soften the vaults, safes and other high level security measures essential to the successful operation of such a facility. The building’s exterior combines precast and glass fiber reinforced concrete, cast stone and synthetic limestone blockwork to define the business as an establishment of longevity and grandiosity while maintaining reasonable construction costs.
